I'm currently in post-production for my first narrative short film, set in Harlem, telling the story of one young woman’s frustration and anger at the loss of community around her. At seeing her best friend pushed out of their home due to rent rises, she devises a strategy to get revenge on the landlord and get her friend back, which leads to unintended consequences.

The “Bourbon Blaze” documentary takes viewers into the highly competitive – and flammable – bourbon industry in Kentucky, where distillers compete to sell every last drop. The industry has stood the test of time, through Prohibition and changing consumer tastes and is as old as America itself. But when a massive fire hits one of the largest bourbon distilleries, the families of competing bourbon companies have to decide whether to lend a hand… or let it burn. This was the pilot episode for Hearst TV’s / Very Local’s new documentary show “Little known Big Histories”.

The African History Behind Latino Botanicas

A short educational feature for black history month which sheds light on the often forgotten black history of Latinos. Through shooting inside Botanica stores in New York City, interviewing an academic scholar and adding an introductory voice-over, I made the religious history and African roots behind these stores accessible to a large audience.
La Ceiba : A Family History

An independent documentary project based on an intimate family history revolving around my personal relatives in Cuba
This documentary was filmed in Cuba at the beginning of this year as part of a project I decided to embark upon. I conducted interviews with various family members, asking about a specific piece of family owned land which contains a sacred tree, a ceiba, and engaging in discussion with them to uncover what it means to them and what the history means for our family.

Produced during Covid 19 lockdown, this is a video call out to launch a Fund supporting creative activities for young people in the London Borough of Lambeth. I worked with the youth advisory group to script and self film, then edited the piece together.
